Insurance tax motorhome Austria
The way to your own mobile home will be cheaper again from mid-2023 thanks to ÖCC!
The trend to vacation in a motorhome is continuing. Thanks to intervention of the Austrian Camping Club ÖCC, a change in the motor-related insurance tax is coming from 01 June 2023, which will also make the purchase of a new motorhome much more attractive again for Austrians.
A positive development, which CAMPPA also welcomes: Because next to the Dutch and Germans, the Austrians also like to travel in their own country. They enjoy parking with farmers in exclusive secluded locations and taking trips to surrounding wine regions, lakes and mountains. Thanks to the daily growing number of parking spaces in suitable sizes, nothing stands in the way of spontaneous & legal travel and parking.
The Austrian economy also benefits
If the new insurance tax makes the purchase of the motorhome in Austria also cheaper again, everyone benefits. Also the domestic economy. A German study shows that camping and motorhome tourism brought gross revenues of 14.1 billion euros in Germany in 2020, which represents a considerable contribution to national income of 0.223%. This breaks down into camper expenses at the destination, travel expenses and investment in camping equipment. “In Austria, there are no figures on this, but the trend is similar, tell us farmers who run farm stores or wine cellars, as well as catering businesses near RV parks,” tells Christian Keck of CAMPPA Smart Parking Systems.
